Jesus' resurrection accomplished so much it is appropriate that we celebrate it today and that we consider that moment the centerpiece of all history. But one thing we often overlook is that on that Sunday, the Kingdom finally came. The "Kingdom" was something promised by prophets and proclaimed by Jesus, himself.
But it was at the resurrection that Jesus proclaimed his Kingship. It is after the Resurrection that Jesus claimed "all authority" for himself as the new King of all reality.
Jesus has the right to claim this because of His victory. Jesus, who was the true heir to rule all things, came into this earth as a liberator freeing an occupied land. We were under the brutal rule of the guilt of our sin, the death it require and the hell that would follow. But when the stone rolled away we see that not even those great enemies could match Jesus' power.
Jesus is alive!!! And with Him comes the Kingdom he promised. So on Easter let us pray, as Jesus did..."Thy Kingdom Come!!!"
