Sometimes, people ask me how I prepare for sermons. Mike has a standard that he spends 15 hours in preparation for each sermon. It's a good goal and I try to follow it, as well. I try to begin by just writing a study paper trying to figure out what the verses that I'm going to preach really mean. What did they mean to the author, the first readers and what do the mean to us, today?
I thought some of you might be interested in seeing that. So if you want some more in depth study notes on yesterday's passage, click here.

You had an excellent sermon yesterday, Doug! Thanks for all the hard work you put into it-the Lord really spoke through you.
Thanks! I loved the energy in the room both hours. People just seem to be so ready to hear a word for God. Glad God did something with it!
